Happy Dancember ! :D

Welcoming you people on this Dance month ! :)

I choose this date, the early December to launch this blog so I can match My Blog's title with its contents.

"To see me dance, is to hear my heart speaks..."                                                                      - Hopi Indians -

Nowadays, dance attracts people a lot. It is fun to watch and to be learned. Even directors have made some films based on dance genres, such as Stomp The Yard, Black Swan, Step Up, Streetdance, BGirl, etc. Those films encourage kids, teenagers, even adults to learn how to dance.

Many genres of dance becoming popular these days. They are ballet, hip hop, breakdance, tango, ballroom, salsa, and many more. What I focus more here is hip hop, which is often called as Streetdance ! ;)

So here, basicly streetdance has 5 basics.

  • GROOVE
    • You move your body to the beat. It's the most basic things you should be able to do before you learn the other basics. Groove's basics are :
      • Balance
      • Spin
      • Toe to Kick
      • Nigger Step
      • Crab
      • Slide
      • many more ~
  • LOCKING
    • Locking's basics made by the famous pop singer Michael Jackson. They are improved a lot. Locking also have an adding basic which is popular nowadays : WHACKING.
      • Strong and Lock
      • Point
      • Roll
      • Chicken
      • Which-A-Way
      • Scooby Doo - Scooby Walk
      • etc.
  • POPPING
    • Many people said that if you do hip hop but you can't do popping things, you still aren't a real hip hop dancer. Here are the basics :
      • Ticking
      • Hit
      • Fresno : it is the mix between tick and hit
      • Tutting
      • Waving
      • Isolation : THE HARDEST~
  • KRUMPING
    • The point of krump dance is gorilla anger. Have you ever seen a mad gorilla ? Yeah, that's how you move your body during krump dance. It should be powerful and full of madness. >:)
      • Arm swing
      • Scramble
      • Chest pops
      • Stomp
      • Buck ups
      • Taunt
  • BREAKDANCE
    • You should've known about this stuff. Yeah, the handstand, windmill, and other scary things which require strong muscles to hold your body up. It is classified into two : Uprocks and Downrocks.
      • Uprocks       : Front, Salsa Rock, Indiana Step, Brooklyn
      • Downrocks  :  Six-step, Three-Step, Sissy, etc.
